On Tuesday 2^nd September 2025 the Bexley Branch Executive Committee voted to nominate Christina McAnea for re-election as the General Secretary of UNISON.

The general secretary is the most senior role in the union. They represent UNISON when talking to the media, other unions, employers and to Parliament.

According to UNISON’s rulebook and trade union legislation, UNISON members must elect our General Secretary every five years.

The ballot opens on 28^th October 2025 and runs until 25^th November 2025. The results will be announced on 17^th December 2025.
