UNISON members have voted to strike for fair pay next Thursday, 10 July 2014. Here’s the second of a series of five reasons why you should join the strike.

You are worth fair pay for the work you do

Your pay and conditions are the worst in the public sector from top to bottom. The slightly higher offer to the lowest paid just keeps councils above the National Minimum Wage – not a rate that anyone working in a council or school should be paid. On top of this, councils are attacking jobs and pay locally.

Please join the strike on Thursday 10 July – don’t go into work, and don’t work from home.
